We sketch and it’s almost like absorbing information by sketching from reference, so when we create a character we take that information and apply it. We then leave those scribbles again upon the requirements of the client, and then come back and draw to scale a more finished sketch of what you like. This generally gives us a fresh look at what we have done. Very rarely have we had to change anything at this stage, simply because most edits have been sassed out in the sketch phase. Generally if there are revisions at this stage, it’s tinting a color, adjusting an eyeball or something like that.
