The General Directorate of Meteorology issued a "yellow" code warning about floods and heavy rains for Kastamonu. Residents covered their cars with blankets, quilts, and rugs to ward off the risk of hail before the city experienced heavy rain. The city's residents, who were taken off guard, struggled during the deluge, which lasted for almost an hour.
"There are many flood events, so every time it rains, we become a little more anxious."
Zeki Ylmaz stated, "The torrential rains continue in Kastamonu during this time. I'm trying to cover my car with a blanket to protect it from hail. We try to safeguard our cars as much as we can by parking them in garages because hailstorms have occurred before. It rains a lot in this area. We get a little more worried every time it rains because there are so many flood events," he remarked.
Rainfall in the city is anticipated to last until May 26.
