Systems design and implementation for systems of all sizes from small office to enterprise. I have experience in most versions of Unix and Linux as well as NetBSD, FreeBSD, BSD/OS and SCO (including Xenix). I build firewalls, routers, mail servers, spam filters, DNS servers, File Servers, webservers, database servers and intrusion detection systems. My solutions are solid and reliable. I have built servers and clustered server farms for ecommerce and adult web sites. I have built systems for financial trading that included high availability and automatic failover. I have done a lot of work with ZFS, including purpose built SAN/NAS boxes and multi-tier backup solutions. I am experienced with security hardening systems and networks as well as bringing systems into PCI compliance. I have migrated systems to Amazon Web Services and provided design remediation for poor preforming AWS implementations designed by others. I have optimized web sites running on BSD/Solaris/Linux with Apache, Nginx, thttpd, with front end code in both Perl and PHP and talking to backend database servers running MySQL and Postgres. (BAMP, SAMP, LAMP). I have used Apache SOLR to improve performance of Magento ecommerce sites. I am available for any sort of systems design, administration, or programming work.
