Once the writer completes the manuscript, we will vet it for plagiarism and have our in-house story editors vet the story. We want to determine if it has the x-factor. Does it make sense? Is there sufficient character build-up? Is the plot clear? Is the climax in the right place? We don’t just run it through a grammar checker or spell-check. We look at the story and determine how it will fare in the hearts and minds of readers of that genre. We will annotate the changes and you can then send them to the writer.

Once those changes are made, we will check them one more time, and assuming all works out well, we will have our copy editors vet them. These are capable wordsmiths. They understand the mores of the language and the temperature of the reader.
