Writing has always been a passion of mine. Whether it’s writing human interest articles or recently completing my debut novel—being involved in the literary realm is what I was born to do!
Deeply moved by the tragic events that transpired on 9/11, I joined the U.S. Army and deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, where I had the fulfilling opportunity to put my journalism background to use. I interviewed numerous soldiers and contributed countless news and feature stories that were picked up by over 110 web sites, including RC-East.com, www.army.mil, KWTX, The Fort Hood Sentinel, and Fox News. I also completed my novel Bunker of Absolution while in Afghanistan, which debuted in Penmen Review May 12th.
I have a B.S. in Agricultural Journalism with a minor in English from Texas A&M University, a M.A. in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University and am currently continuing my studies with Bangor University (online) as I pursue a PhD in Critical and Creative Writing.
