Project Overview

The Real Estate Tenant App is designed to streamline relationship management among tenants, landlords, compound management, and service providers. The development process will progress through three stages/versions, with each stage introducing additional features and functionality.

Key highlights of the project:

  • Platform Support: The app will be available for both iOS and Android platforms.
  • Web Version: A fully functional web version of the app will be developed alongside the mobile versions.
  • Multi-Language Ready: Supports multiple languages, including RTL (Right-to-Left) languages, with an easy-to-translate interface.
  • Standard API Integrations: Seamless connectivity with systems such as Odoo and other third-party platforms.
  • Comprehensive Documentation: Detailed technical documentation will accompany the project to support future updates, scaling, and development efforts.

Stage 1: Basic Version

Objective:

Deliver the foundational app functionality to support essential operations like tenant communication, maintenance requests, and payment reminder/notification.

Key Features:

  1. Tenant Communication: Direct messaging with landlords and compound management.
  2. Maintenance Requests: Submit and track requests with photo/video attachments.
  3. Payment Reminder: View payment history and notify about coming payments for rent, electricity, water and internet.
  4. Secure Login: signup with OTP-based for tenant accounts.
  5. Database: Centralized storage for tenant, landlord, and property information.
  6. Multi-Language Support: Support for multiple languages, including RTL languages, with an easy-to-translate interface.
  7. Push Notifications: to update tenant and inform them about new updates, changes, upcoming events, and other important information.
  8. Administrative Panel: A basic administrative panel. This feature streamlines the process of managing multiple properties by providing a centralized platform for service providers to oversee all their requests. It also allows them to communicate efficiently with tenants / renters through in-app messaging. It is required also to have a Superadmin that can assign the features and roles for each user i.e. stakeholders, tenant, landlord, different service provider, and compound management.
  9. It is required to have a web version of the app along with the mobile app.

Technical Scope:

  • Platforms: iOS (Swift/React Native) and Android (Kotlin/React Native).
  • Backend: Node.js or Python with a scalable database (PostgreSQL or MySQL).
  • Deployment: This is beta version, which will be lunch to enable end user testing but with limited functionality release.

Language and Translation

  1. Include an easy-to-use language switcher.
  2. Ensure full support for RTL languages (e.g., Arabic).
  3. Use localization libraries like i18next or Google Firebase Translation.
  4. Maintain translations in JSON or YAML files for easy updates.
  5. Test UI for proper rendering of RTL languages.

 Development Guidelines

  1. Project Management:
    • Use a tool like Trello, Asana, or Jira to track tasks and milestones.
  2. Version Control:
    • Use GitHub or GitLab for repository management.

Deployment Instructions

  1. Deployment-ready code with Git repository access.
  2. App Store Submission: Follow Apple’s guidelines for iOS deployment.
  3. Play Store Submission: Ensure compliance with Google’s policies for Android.
  4. Testing: Use TestFlight for iOS and internal testing for Android.
  5. Beta Launch: Gather feedback from a small group of users before full release.

Timeline: To be suggested by developer

Note: Suggest Buffer Time: Include buffer time in the timeline for user testing and addressing feedback
