Programming & Development Programming & Software

Looking for a software developer in the niche field of 3D printing slicing tools.

The goal is to tap into the open-source Prusa slicer's source code, and modify the "Embossed text" feature to automatically embed the recycling PET 1 logo on every possible surface of the part without significantly sacrificing the structural integrity of the part.  (ensuring structural support is not a priority, but goot to keep in mind when possible).

These are the steps the user should take when playing with the final product:

  1. User introduces the .stl file on the printing plate in the slicer
  2. User selects the "PET1" fillament option/profile same as the already establshed filament type settings in the slicer
  3. Small prompt pops up, gives the user the option to mark the part as recyclable or not (marking will allow the Recycling logo to be placed)
  4. User selects "Yes"
  5. Part becomes branded in all 8x8mm areas (curved and/or flat) with "♻️PET1"
