My client is a well-known business identity in Australia and New Zealand.
He has produced a 35,000 word history of his business activities which, working on the basis of approx. 250 words per page would translate into a 140 page book.
Add to this another 40+ pages of PDF documents (reports and newspaper clippings) plus photos and the final book is expected to be around 200 pages.
No great design is needed. I have attached a simple layout which will give you an idea of what we are looking.
In the main part of the book I would like the text to be in 12pt Times Roman and the various subheadings in 14pt Calibri bold
We’re looking for a book designer who can take the approx. 140 text pages / PDF pages of clippings and company reports along with the photos and turn into an attractive, easy to read publication printed portrait orientation to US Royal (229mm x 152mm) size.
Photos will be supplied scanned to 300 dpi but will likely need trimming to fit 3 -4 or more photos on a page (229mm x 152mm)
Before final PDF files are produced the book will need to be indexed using appropriate software (which will need human checking by our editor) which will then make up the final few pages.
If you are interested in this book design project (the entire publication EXCEPT for the cover – which is a separate brief) please give us an approximate estimate for the, typesetting and layout including the production of single page PDF files to printer’s specifications (which will be provided in due course).
When submitting your quote can you also submit scans of pages from some of the books you have designed that may be similar to the type of book we have in mind (ie mainly a text based book with some photos and scanned docs)
