We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Contractor to support our IT team during a transition period. This role involves managing and securing our IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of our systems, and supporting our transition to a permanent hire. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of skills with a strong emphasis on Checkpoint Firewall management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Firewall Management:
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Checkpoint Firewall systems.
- Implement and manage VPN point-to-point connections for branch offices and mobile access endpoints.
- Ensure the firewall provides robust perimeter protection and manage security policies.
- Server and Network Management:
- Administer virtual and physical servers, including VMware for production environments and Hyper-V for testing.
- Maintain and troubleshoot server issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Manage Synology SMB appliances for information sharing.
- Backup and Recovery:
- Utilize Veeam Backup for local server backups and manage immutable backups in the cloud via Wasabi services.
- Ensure backup systems are functioning correctly and can be restored promptly in case of failures.
- Email and Online Store Security:
- Manage the security of locally hosted online stores, particularly those using Prestashop on CentOS.
- Work with local providers to implement Web Application Firewalls (WAF) using Azure services.
- Handle email encryption and secure channels provided by O365, focusing on infrastructure team accounts.
- Policy Implementation and User Management:
- Enforce Acceptable Use, Remote Access, Password, and other IT policies.
- Support MFA configuration and geographical controls using Conditional Access.
- Perform administrative tasks in Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Incident Response and Security Testing:
- Develop and implement incident response policies.
- Conduct email phishing testing and other security awareness programs for users.
equired Qualifications:
- Proven experience with Checkpoint Firewall configuration and management.
- Strong knowledge of VMware, Hyper-V, and server administration.
- Experience with Veeam Backup solutions and cloud backup services.
- Proficiency in managing email systems and secure communications.
- Familiarity with online store security, particularly with Prestashop on CentOS.
- Ability to enforce and manage IT policies and user compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently during the transition period.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Azure services and Web Application Firewalls (WAF).
- Familiarity with Synology SMB appliances and Oracle, MSSQL, internal web applications.
- Knowledge of incident response best practices and conducting security awareness programs.
