**Job Description:**
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to help us set up, develop, and implement our new furniture manufacturing operation in the Dominican Republic. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, be well-connected with local (wholesale) raw material suppliers within the local furniture production industry, and possess a deep understanding of the local market and labor force. *Candidates must have prior experience in the furniture production field.*
**Responsibilities:**
- **Facility Sourcing:** Identify and evaluate potential production facilities or workshops that can be used at a reasonable cost.
- **Labor Management:** Assist in the recruitment and hiring of skilled local laborers and contracted workshops.
- **Project Planning:** Develop a comprehensive project plan including timelines, budget, resource allocation, and implementation strategies.
- **Process Implementation:** Oversee the setup of manufacturing processes and ensure they meet our quality standards and production requirements.
- **Local Networking:** Leverage local contacts and networks to facilitate smooth operations and resolve any issues that arise.
- **Compliance:** Ensure all operations comply with local regulations and international standards.
- **Reporting:** Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, challenges, and progress.
**Qualifications:**
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in the furniture production field is required.
- Strong understanding of the furniture production process from raw materials to the finished product.
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Familiarity with local labor laws and business practices in the Dominican Republic.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
