I'm filing a petition with the Suffolk County Surrogate's Court. My friend living in Mastic passed in October 2024 and made me executor and 100% beneficiary of his house in a 2022 will written by a lawyer. It will be challenged by his caregiver who has a 2023 will which he wrote leaving himself everything. It was done under duress and diminished mental capacity. I plan on filing my will first as soon as I get the death certificate. Prefer someone with experience with this court. I will represent myself pro se so I'll need help with depositions, subpoenas and other filings. The plan is to sign a settlement agreement when the other side gets tired of paying legal fees. I have probate and other legal experience but I'm not a lawyer.
