Job Title: Freelance Copyeditor & Publishing Assistant – Children’s Book

Project Overview:
I’m looking for a detail-oriented and creative freelance copyeditor with experience in children’s literature to help me polish and prepare my completed children’s book manuscript for publishing. The story is written—now I need support with final edits, formatting, and guidance through the self-publishing or submission process.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and edit the manuscript for grammar, punctuation, flow, and age-appropriate language (target age: [insert age group, e.g., 4–8 years old])
Provide suggestions for improving readability and storytelling where needed
Ensure tone, pacing, and vocabulary are suitable for the intended age group
Format manuscript according to publishing standards (print and/or digital)
Assist with preparing the manuscript for self-publishing platforms (e.g., Amazon KDP, IngramSpark) or traditional submission (e.g., literary agents, publishers)
Optional: Provide light consultation on layout, cover copy, or illustration alignment
Ideal Qualifications:
Experience editing or publishing children’s books
Strong grasp of child-friendly language and narrative structure
Knowledge of self-publishing and/or traditional publishing processes
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
Familiarity with tools like Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Adobe InDesign, or KDP
Compensation:
