We are structural engineers / building designers in the UK and are a relatively small company trading for over 25 years.
We have a steel framed structure drawn up in autocad of a bespoke design that requires modelling and a structural analysis of it carried out based on either British Standard or Euro codes in order to confirm steel sizes and moments, shears and foundation loads. A set of calculations will be required to confirm the design is correct for submission to local authorities.
The building is a portal frame type with internal beams and columns at two floor levels which support precast planks fore warehouse loading. The building is relatively simple in frame but it is to be connected to another structure which is proving complicated so we are re-looking at it to ignore the interface with the existing building and simply treat this building as a stand alone. Then using structural engineering common sense apply individual design calcs for some simple cantilevering beams where it will meet up to the existing building.
It is actually a simple frame but our current software has limitations and will not accept some of the nodal connections. Ive ran out of time dealing with it due to other numerous urgent jobs we have. If the successful person completes this, we will have a lot more quick simple frames that can be priced and paid for.
We will only need a basic design analysis and not a full design so we do not need connection designs
