Project Manager of Development

Position Overview
Prospect client is seeking an accomplished Project Manager of Development with a robust skill set to lead and manage our software development initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong development skills using .NET 4.5x, ASP.NET, Webforms, REST web services, jQuery, VB Script, C#, and HTML. This role requires expertise in utilizing tools like DevOps CI/CD pipelines, writing SQL Database queries, and leveraging Power BI for dashboard reporting. The candidate should also demonstrate proficiency in AI and ML technologies when applicable, along with a track record of writing test procedures, conducting regression testing, managing code reviews, and overseeing code pushes. Reporting to stakeholders and effectively running meetings while staying on budget and meeting specific timelines are key components of this leadership role.
Essential Functions
- Project Leadership:
- Lead and manage end-to-end software development projects, ensuring successful delivery and alignment with organizational goals.
- Provide strategic direction, set project goals, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Development Skillset:
- Demonstrate a strong development skillset using .NET 4.5x, ASP.NET, Webforms, REST web services, jQuery, VB Script, C#, and HTML.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- DevOps and CI/CD:
- Utilize and optimize DevOps CI/CD pipelines to streamline the software development life cycle.
- Oversee continuous integration processes for efficient and reliable code delivery.
- SQL Database Management:
- Write SQL Database queries for effective data retrieval, manipulation, and reporting.
- Power BI Dashboard Reporting:
- Utilize Power BI for data visualization and analytics, contributing to data-driven decision-making processes.
- AI and ML Integration:
- Incorporate AI and ML technologies when applicable to enhance software capabilities.
- Quality Assurance:
- Develop and implement test procedures, including regression testing, to ensure high software quality.
- Conduct thorough code reviews, providing constructive feedback to maintain code excellence.
- Code Pushes and Deployment:
- Manage and conduct code pushes, overseeing the software release process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate release schedules and deployment strategies.
- Stakeholder Communication and Meetings:
- Report project progress to stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Run meetings efficiently, facilitating discussions and decision-making.
10) Budget and Timeline Management:
- Ensure projects stay on budget and meet specific timelines.
- Identify and address potential risks and deviations from the project plan.
Minimum Requirements: To perform the duties of this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential functions satisfactorily.
The following requirements are representative of the education, knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position.
Education
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (10+ years) in project and development management, with a focus on software development projects.
- Strong development skills using .NET 4.5x, ASP.NET, Webforms, REST web services, jQuery, VB Script, C#, and HTML.
- Proficiency in using DevOps CI/CD pipelines and related tools.
- Strong SQL database experience and knowledge.
- Experience with Power BI dashboard reporting.
- Familiarity with AI and ML technologies and their application in software development.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Certification in project management (PMP) and/or relevant technical certifications.
- Experience with cloud-based technologies and architectures.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
