About Us:
We are a full service marketing agency creating an educational YouTube channel producing weekly videos that deliver quality content to our audience. Our videos are typically talking-head style and require minimalistic editing, with a focus on clean visuals, typography, and enhancing the viewer experience with relevant images.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a beginner-to-intermediate video editor who will edit one video per week. The videos will range between 5-10 minutes, with an average of 5-7 minutes. You will handle the entire editing process, including adding captions, images, and some creative text based on the provided script. You'll have creative control but will need final approval from our team.
Responsibilities:
- Edit weekly talking-head videos (5-10 minutes long).
- Add typography and images based on script suggestions to enhance viewer engagement.
- Ensure captions are included for YouTube uploads, ensuring accurate spelling and grammar.
- Upload an initial version of the video to *Munch* prior to finalizing captions and additional visuals.
- Maintain a minimalistic editing style, ensuring videos are clean and easy to follow.
- Collaborate remotely with our team, incorporating feedback and making adjustments as needed.
- Optional: Add background music or sound effects (if creatively desired).
Requirements:
- Ability to handle the full editing process, from rough cuts to final export.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly with spelling and grammar for captions.
- Basic creative control with an understanding of minimalistic editing styles.
- Experience editing talking-head videos.
- Must be able to meet deadlines (5 business days per video).
- Good communication skills for remote collaboration.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with platforms like *Munch* for initial video uploads.
- Creative flair for adding engaging, yet simple, text and visuals.
Compensation:
This is a per-project role, with payment based on the length of the video (up to 10 minutes, averaging 5-7 minutes).
