I am a hardworking, adaptable product design engineer with a high level of problem solving ability and a wide range of experience (from the gift market, through mass produced consumer appliances to specialist vehicles). I am genuinely passionate about product design / design engineering and the challenges and rewards that the profession creates. I have a good ability for forethought in the design of a product, allowing me to confront and deal with potential risks before they become big problems. In the past I have worked in product development for small start-ups and my most recent full time role was as Senior Design Engineer at a large UK based home appliance company. I now work as a freelance Product Design Engineer for a range of clients, across a wide range of product types. I am experienced in use of Siemens NX from my previous job and now a proficient Solidworks 2017 user with my own workstation and software licence. I can offer services in any or all elements of the product development process. From basic 2D sketch into 3D CAD model, technical drawings, prototyping, testing, right up to full design and engineering up to a resolution ready for manufacture. Through an affiliation with a small UK based consultancy, I can also offer extended services in industrial design, electronic engineering and PCBA design, 3D printing along with increased design resource for larger projects.
