Danish police announced that 3 people were killed in a shooting that took place on Sunday inside a shopping center in Copenhagen, noting that there were many wounded, including three in critical condition.
Soren Thomassen, Copenhagen's chief police inspector, told a news conference that the suspect, who was arrested after the shooting, was known to the police "but only marginally".
Local media published pictures showing heavily armed police officers at the scene, as well as people running out of the mall.
When he heard the first shots, more than a hundred people rushed outside the mall, according to Danish media, quoting witnesses.

Police said they had arrested a 22-year-old Danish suspect and could not rule out that it was an "act of terrorism". She added that there is currently no indication that there were accomplices in the shooting incident.
The site of the attack is adjacent to the "Royal Arena" concert hall, where British singer Harry Styles was scheduled to hold a concert starting at 20:00.
The attack comes after a shooting incident, carried out by one of the attackers in neighboring Norway last week, which killed two people in the capital, Oslo.
According to the latest report issued by the Danish Security and Intelligence Service, Denmark's terrorist threat assessment is currently at a "severe" level and that the biggest threat comes from "radical Islamists".
The last attack in Copenhagen was on February 14 and 15, 2015, when a series of terrorist shootings left two dead and five wounded.
