Except for Baby Boomers, no one else expressed excitement for them, exclaiming, “Wow, they’re wonderful!” No one else expressed joy for them, either. Unfortunately, even when they were there, our seniors’ belongings were never ‘in.’ We would want to express our apologies to them. In the long run, being able to put these big societal disasters behind us as soon as possible would be beneficial to future generations in a variety of ways. For a moment, let us all take a brief look back at some of the things that are out of date, absurd, and strange that have come from our beloved Baby Boomer age to refresh our collective memory of the past.
Cursive writing was required in elementary school, which resulted in sloppy handwriting and wasted time away from courses where we might have been learning about other important topics, such as the history of women’s rights. (Is this too liberal?) Teachers, students, and parents have all agreed that the experience had been a waste of their time and that they had learned nothing that was relevant to the current society in which they were living at the time of the event.
