The Kazakh authorities announced today, Thursday, that an earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale struck Tajikistan and shook parts of Kazakhstan.

 the epicenter of the earthquake occurred in the Tajikistan region, 740 km southwest of the city of Almaty, and the residents felt tremors of 2-3 on the MPV scale in the Kazakh cities of Taraz and Shymkent, as well as the Turkestan region.

A series of earthquakes hit Tajikistan and Uzbekistan last night.

On March 9, the Euro-Mediterranean Center announced that an earthquake measuring 4.5 degrees had been recorded in the Republic of Tajikistan.

The center indicated - in a statement, reported by (Russia Today) news channel, that the epicenter of the earthquake is 82 km southwest of the residential center "Murghab" in eastern  Tajikistan  , where about 8.5 thousand people live.

The statement noted that the epicenter of the aforementioned earthquake is located at a depth of 40 km
