During my professional career I lectured at a residential university and a distance education university. Apart from preparing lectures, I developed on-line support materials to facilitate the learning process. Administration and data management were vital parts of the job.
During my tenure at these academic institutions (almost 20 years) I co-authored 12 academic textbooks ranging over a broad spectrum of subjects, including Business Management, Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship. This process involved extensive writing, proofreading and editing.
As an MCom student, I had to submit a thesis, so I have also been exposed to conducting research, analysis of data, interpretation of data, the documentation of findings and the formulation of recommendations. Once again proofreading and editing were paramount.
For 10 years I was co-director of a Coaching and Development business that is still operational. I was responsible for the development and implementation of Organizational Development Programmes. I also developed the training materials for group coaching programmes we conducted at companies like Vodacom. Topics included Strategic Management, Emotional Intelligence, Leadership, Team Development, Performance Management and Customer Service.
For a period of two years I did on-line coaching for an international company. I taught Business-English.
