As a coach and editor, I help writers communicate clearly and effectively.
Between
1998 and 2009 I taught at The Bishop's School, a highly respected
college preparatory middle and high school in La Jolla, California.
While at Bishop's I was afforded many opportunities to study the
theory and practice of teaching writing, and to then apply what I
learned to my work with students. I read extensively, attended
workshops at Bard College's Institute for Writing and Thinking,
became a fellow of the San Diego Area Writing Project, and studied at
The Salt Institute for Documentary Studies. I taught journalism,
founded and directed the school's Writing Center, and developed
several courses in writing including a workshop for students
struggling with academic writing, a writing intensive course for
freshmen, and a senior elective in the composition of creative
non-fiction. Before
