I have over 12 years of leadership experience in FP&A, treasury management, operational accounting, strategic planning, and capital restructuring projects in the range of $50M–$250M.
In my most recent position as the CFO for the Colorado Education Association (“CEA”), I managed the organization's Accounting, Treasury, HR, & IT departments. I also served as the primary contact and admin for CEA’s banking and financial relationships. Prior to my tenure, CEA was using a 20-year-old ERP system, required executives to come to the office in person to approve check requests, lacked an organizational investment policy, did not have written procedures for critical business office functions, & had major cybersecurity issues. During my initial six months with CEA, I developed the organization's first-ever investment policy, fully digitized the business office, documented SOPs for critical functions, reduced the month-end close timeline by half, & implemented multiple new software programs to increase cybersecurity and cut admin costs. I also created templates for the quarterly board of director reports & implemented monthly accounting review procedures to identify inaccuracies or journal entries not recorded in compliance with GAAP.
Before joining CEA, I managed all business office functions, excluding HR, for Full Sail University (“Full Sail”), a private equity-backed company with over $550M in annual revenue. My responsibilities as the Director of Business Operations included, but were not limited to, the oversight of all operational accounting (AP, AR, fixed assets, leases, etc.), the GL month-end close, updating a rolling 90-day cash flow forecasts, and affiliate financial consolidation. I joined Full Sail in 2011 as a junior financial analyst for strategic planning and reported to Full Sail’s executive planning committee. I was promoted to Director of Strategic Planning in 2013 and partnered with executive leadership teams in affiliated companies by providing FP&A support & when required, served as an interim executive.
