My name is Amen Iyobo Orobor. I studied Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria where I graduated with a second class honours, Upper Division. Based on my course of study in the University, I was able to bag a job as an Administrative Officer in Nigerian Institute for Oil palm research.
I have over 10 years experience working in Nigerian Institute for Oil palm research(NIFOR) and through my experience I have become highly skilled in office management systems and procedures, proofreading and editing documents and writing of memoranda. I work in the Human Resources Management Department of NIFOR and I am involved in the process of recruiting of new workers, attending to staff who are being sponsored by the institute to further their studies, updating the records of staff in their respective record of service forms, preparing manpower budget for the upcoming years. I also write memoranda advising the Executive Director on whether staffs should be granted leave of absence based on what is stipulated in the Public Service Rules and also write memos on staff's interdiction, etc.
Over the years working as an Administrative Officer, I can say that the skill that has stood out and in which I have gotten verbal commendations from my superiors has been my proofreading and editing skills, writing skills especially of memoranda and minutes of meetings and in the professional manner with which I supervise my subordinates.
I am interested in working part time as an administrative officer or assistant and majorly focus on contributing my quota to my employer's estabishment's goals and objectives. I will be most grateful if I am considered for the post of an administrative officer/ assistant or a proofreader or an editor and I promise to give my very best.
