After the Paris attack, Macron condemns

For his part, French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said that the gunman who opened fire on a Kurdish cultural center and a barbershop in Paris "clearly targeted foreigners."

Clear targeting

Darmanan told reporters that the 69-year-old, a retired train driver, "clearly targeted foreigners," adding that he was "not certain" whether he tried to kill "the Kurds in particular" or not.

The French minister added, "We still do not know his exact motives," according to the agency, "Agence France Presse."

Darmanan confirmed that there is no information so far about the suspect's links with far-right activists.

According to the French minister, the man is a member of a shooting sports club and "has several registered weapons."

In response to a question about whether any of the victims in the shooting, on Friday, were linked to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which is classified as a "terrorist" organization in the European Union and other countries, Darmanan said that the victims "apparently are not known to the French 

denounced a shooting incident in Paris that killed three people and wounded three others, describing it as a "disgraceful" attack targeting France's Kurds on Friday.


Macron wrote in a tweet on Twitter, "The Kurds of France were targeted by a heinous attack in the heart of Paris. Our hearts are with the victims and those fighting for life, and their families and loved ones."

Macron added in the tweet, "All sympathies are with the victims, the people who are struggling to survive, and with their families and loved ones. All appreciation to our police forces for their courage and composure."
