Bryce Foster is making noise for the Aggies thanks to his shot put outing in Gainesville. 

Texas A&M offensive lineman Bryce Foster won't be strapping on a helmet this spring as the Aggies work through drills in spring football. He's got bigger things on his mind. 

Actually, he just has bigger things to throw. 

Foster placed third in the Men's Shot Put College Invite at the Florida Relays on Saturday in Gainesville with a throw of 18.83 meters. Two weeks prior, Foster won the Island Relays in the Bahamas with a throw of 19.12 meters.

A dual-sport athlete at Katy Taylor High School, Foster committed to Texas A&M as both an offensive lineman and shot put thrower. Over the previous two springs, Foster has worked out with the track team rather than run drills in football, a deal made by the university before his signing. 

This is common for highly-touted athletes coming from high school. For two years, running back Devon Achane was a member of the Aggies' track team as a sprinter. Quarterback Conner Weigman committed to play both baseball and football, though he's put his glove on the backburner this offseason as he looks to win the starting job against redshirt junior Max Johnson.
