One rescuer reported that "several folks under the ruins are sharing their wills with the rescuers." They share the names of their loved ones before passing away.

A minor victory for the hundreds of thousands who had waited days for help to dig out people who had been buried in the rubble, locate safe housing, and get food was achieved on Thursday when the first cargo of international supplies arrived to the exhausted residents of opposition-held northwest Syria.

However, the doctors, survivors, and rescuers voiced disappointment that it came too little, too late. The six UN assistance trucks that were prepared before the earthquake struck did not include some of the most urgently required commodities, such food, and instead supplied less important stuff.
