Amal Clooney wowed onlookers in New York City on Thursday as she headed out to dine in a stunning sleeveless scarlet dress alongside Mum, Baria Alamuddin.

As her East Coast residency continues, the beauty stepped out of the luxury Whitby Hotel in Midtown Manhattan with her mother into a waiting SUV with blacked out windows.

The 44-year-old human rights attorney's knee-length number hugged her slim figure and proved to be a stunning combination of an opaque seamed chest with an embroidered patterned skirt.

Her 5 feet 9 inch frame was boosted by a pair of high-heeled shiny sliver pumps with pointed toes.

The look was complemented by a box-shaped clutch and large dangling silver earrings, which partially hidden by her cascading brunette locks. Her look was completed with ruby red lipstick to match that eye-catching dress.

Amal's journalist mum, Baria, meanwhile, also stood out in furry canary yellow jacket on top of a more modest white blouse with a frilly collar.

The 72-year old coupled that with prominently creased white trousers and a pair of pointy white boots. Her look was rounded off with a dark, alligator handbag.

The relaxing evening was just the tonic for the Lebanon-born barrister, and proved to be somewhat of a far cry from her schedule just 24 hours earlier, when she made an address at the United Nations.

During a tense session, Amal reportedly accused the UN of ignoring potential war crimes perpetrated by Russia amid its ongoing invasion of Ukraine during an informal meeting of the Security Council.

"Ukraine is, today, a slaughterhouse. Right in the heart of Europe," she told an informal U.N. Security Council meeting, which was organised by France and Albania.
