An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 struck eastern Taiwan today on Saturday, according to the Taiwan Central Weather Bureau. The Bureau reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was located 31.8 km deep beneath the ocean and 67.5 km south of Hualien county. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries. The Bureau also pointed out that the earthquake was in the same area as the one that occurred on Wednesday with a magnitude of 5.4 and it is not yet known if the two earthquakes are related.
