Angel Recalde, a renowned name in New York as being a longtime community services professional who has worked in a wide variety of social and community outreach functions. With an extensive career that encompasses work with youth organizations, rehabilitation centers, and athletics centers, Angel brings a rare grasp of the needs of the community in every role that he has performed. Among the highlights of Angel’s professional career is his stint at the New York Organ Donor Network, in which he served as Family Counselor for the Spanish speaking members of the community from November 1999 to August 2002. As Designated Requestor for the affiliated Organ Procurement Organization, Angel was primarily tasked with establishing therapeutic dialogs with family members of deceased individuals. Angel also provided bereaved family members with the opportunity to sign up for the organization’s Gift of Life program, which facilitated organ and tissue donation procedures. Through this position, Angel played an important role in assisting families through the grieving and recovery process after the death of a loved one.
