iPhone 14

series on Wednesday September 7 at an event called 'Far Out'. Apple is expected to launch four iPhones in the iPhone 14 series. Now just a day ahead of the official launch a new report has surfaced online giving likely details about the chipset powering the upcoming iPhones.

According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, the lower-end iPhone 14 and

iPhone 14 Plus

are said to be powered by an 'enhanced version' of the company's A15 Bionic chipset. The report has not revealed any other detail about the chipset. However, multiple online reports suggest that the standard iPhone 14 models are tipped to pack iPhone 13 Pro's higher-end A15 chipset with five core GPU. The company claims that the chipset delivers up to 25% faster graphics performance. The standard model of iPhone 13 comes with the A15 SoC with four-core GPU.

The report falls inline with another report which came out earlier this year. Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo shared an information in March this year which claims that the iPhone 14 Pro models will be upgraded to A16 chipset for faster CPU performance. If this is true, then it would be the first time that Apple will limit its new chipset to the Pro models and the lower-end iPhones will be powered by an older chipset.

As mentioned above, Apple is expected to launch new iPhones likely to be called iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Along with the new iPhones, the company is also said to launch new Apple Watch models.
