PRELIMINARY DESIGN / DRAFTING / PROJECT DEVELOPMENT Preliminary design approaches the architectural issue with an open and creative mind. It involves an initial evaluation of the project from multiple perspectives, bearing in mind functional, economic, esthetic, and regulation requirements. Means of representation can be diverse according to each project, and are defined in coordination with the client. Master plans, schematic graphics, diagrams, sketches and renderings are some of the possible outcomes. The draft consists in a greater approach to building design itself. This stage includes the development of graphic documentation such as: floor plans, sections, elevations, interior and exterior views that will enable a proper comprehension of the architectural project. The project phase requires covering every aspect of design as a whole. This implies precise coordination between all building installations and the definition of finishing materials, construction procedures and assembly details. Working along with the technical advisor team during this stage is capital. Supporting documents must contain all the information needed in order to carry out construction; including blueprint designs, worksheets, details and constructive specifications. Plans for tenders and executive projects are also part of this process.
