Examine all documents to ensure that they have met the provisions for recording set out in the County recorder’s Document reference Manual. To verify the accuracy of the tax rate area (TRA#) assessor parcel numbers (APN#) and the city/area description that is being used on recordable document where transfer tax is collected. Examine for eligibility, proper signature of all signatories on the document, legible notary acknowledgments that meet the requirement for the type of document being submitted. Return incomplete document, note discrepancies or reason for rejection and corrections.
