As a recording engineer I have maintained a project studio for the past 10 years, as well as doing occasional on location recording. Clients include String Orchestra of Brooklyn, Scott Wollschleger, Ted Hearne, Karl Larson, Bryce Hackford, Tom Noble, Alice Cohen, David Lackner/Galtta Media, Mike Wexler, Nick Stevens, Red Light New Music, Richard Carrick, and David Kaplan.
I offer fast and detailed editing of pre-existing projects/stems, including noise removal, integration of takes/punches, enhancement/clean-up of live recordings, and I’m happy to address issues like phasing, feedback, unwanted resonances and the like. I can also mix more complicated sessions with up to 16 channels of analog summing, and virtually limitless tracks in-the-box with hundreds of industry standard plugins and auxiliary software (Waves, Izotope, Melodyne et al) across many genres and styles, including classical, contemporary classical/new music, jazz, free improvisation, electronic, and pop/rock.
My main DAWs are Reaper and Logic Pro. If your mix contains effects and colors that are essential to the character of your music, please send printed stems (spatial effects as separate stems if possible) to safeguard the sonics of your track, but generally speaking I prefer working with raw, unprocessed tracks. Delivery is in 24-bit/44.1kHz WAV/AIFF unless otherwise specified and includes the stereo mixdown(s), complete set of stems and the session file(s).
