Overview:

We are currently developing a language test. We require a video production expert to produce a high quality audio-visual resource. The resource is approximately 30 minutes long.

We need a high quality digital recording of a female American-English speaker (native speaker) reading 120 sentences in clear, natural American-English. The audio-visual resource will entail the speaker looking into the camera as the 120 sentences are spoken. The 120 sentences are short and simple and are those presented in the accompanying PDF file. From the beginning of one sentence to the commencement of the next sentence a delay of 15 seconds is required. This is to standardize the format of the test.

Only sentences from Parts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 from the PDF document are required (Part 6 is not required). Each part comprised of 24 sentences.  

Note only the sentences are required, and the multiple choice options shown on the PDF are not required. For example, the first three items of the test would be as follows. The speaker reads the following while looking at the camera:  

“Part 1 …..  1. time: They have a lot of time ….2. stone: She sat on a stone ….3. standard: Her standards are very high.” 

This process would be repeated until all five parts of the test had been completed.

Deliverables:

1: Initial short mock samples to ensure the video-production, sound quality and general scope of the product is in line with our requirements.   

2: A high quality video recording of an American female speaker articulating 120 items in American English while the speaker is looking into the camera. It is important that test takers can clearly see the speaker’s mouth while they speak.   

3: Audio-visual file format compatibility to enable audio-only file to be extracted from the original file.

4. Timely delivery (within a month of agreement and initial down payment)

5. Upon payment of the full service amount, the copyright of the video will be transferred to the us. This will give us full and unfettered rights in the delivery and potential commercialization of the audio-video product.

Note: The test is for a range test takers, both men and women, from within a country of the Middle East where modest dress is most appropriate in public settings. For this reason, a well-presented and modestly-attired appearance of the speaker is required. Please see example offered above.
