Design of SAW (Seam Tracker) machine’s wire straightener with inbuilt feedback system. By using this modified straightener which is having inbuilt encoder we can collect data like speed of the wire, feed of the wire, overall welding efficiency (using formulae), voltage, current, actual Energy consumption, etc. 2.Design of Feeder of Orbital machine (SPM) with inbuilt straightener and encoder. This is device which pulls the welding wire from spool and pushes it towards the welding torch. It also has straightener for straighten the welding wire and encoder collects all the required data in the data book. There are some fixture that i have designed. They are as follow:- Improvements in the NDT scanner.:- a) Attached one extra arm for holding the TOFD and PAUT wedges. b) Designed new wedge holder for PAUT wedges. c) New water irrigation system for scanning. d) Design of water tank pneumatic actuated for irrigation system as NDT testing require water as the medium between scanner and welding surface (Capacity 25 ltr.)
