Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong is on the cusp of leaving Barcelona and moving to Chelsea during the current summer transfer window.
The Barcelona administration asked De Jong to reduce his salary if he wanted to continue inside the “Camp Nou”, in light of the financial crisis that the Catalan club is going through, otherwise he must leave this summer.

Chelsea are close to settling the contract with De Jong, despite his late entry into the line of negotiations behind Manchester United, according to the British newspaper, "Daily Mail".
Chelsea are able to offer a greater financial offer than Manchester United, who offered 71 million pounds, and the Blues are trying to entice De Jong to participate in the Champions League next season.

And the newspaper added, that Manchester United has not given up its pursuit of Eric Ten Hag's priority goal this summer, but De Jong is reluctant to move to Old Trafford and play in the European League.
Frenkie de Jong joined Barcelona from Ajax Amsterdam during the summer of 2019, and the 25-year-old has participated in the Blaugrana shirt so far.
In 138 matches, he scored 13 goals and assisted 17 others.
