In many situations, key contributors are allowed to get away with questionable behaviors.  The cost of this behavior being ignored can often outweigh the perceived benefit such individuals bring.  Helping these individuals and the organization in dealing with these behaviors is huge and can produce lasting results that affect the entire organization.  Shortly after the behavior has changed and lasting trust is established the comment is often, “why didn’t we do this sooner?”
