Whether editing other people's works or writing my own, I enjoy musing over how a phrase could be made better or how a glaring mistake could be best fixed. With a B.A. in communication and years of experience in copyediting, I have the qualifications to edit professional documents as well as literary books or scholastic papers. Not limited to one genre or location, I have proofread theses and edited 'raw' interviews from various countries around the world. This year I started a new challenge - working as a contributing editor for a small newspaper near my home in the Netherlands. My task there is to re-craft articles so the original (often non-native English) ideas shine through without the readers being distracted by mistakes. Though I work comfortably with quick turn-arounds on short articles, last year I edited an author's book from early draft to published version over the space of six months.
