I do linear or painted cover artworks for books and albums. Mostly within the horror, crime, and in (dark) sci-fi and fantasy genre.
Here's a brief overview of my general work process:
-Once the terms and project details are discussed and the deposits are paid, the client sends me the art brief, sometimes it can also be a basic stick-figure sketch of their concept.
-I go through the details and ask for more information or references, whichever needed, and then begin with thumbnail sketches.
-Depending on the project and feedback requirements, I sometimes share these sketches with the client and ask for their opinion. Otherwise, I choose whatever sketches I like best for said project, and come up with a little more refined draft and send that to the client for their feedback.
-The client then decides if they like it or they let me know what changes they need. And I do the required changes, and draw the final drawing.
-After that I do a color draft based on the client's requirements (if any), and send that for feedback.
-Once everything looks good, I finish the artwork, send the final invoice to the client, once the invoice is paid I send the high-res file in whatever file format it's required in.
