I am creating book covers for almost fifteen years, for children and adults, for school readers and novels. My covers are very versatile stylistically, ranging from realistic, simple and minimal to surreal, ornate, flamboyant.
I created illustrations for almost twenty book covers for publishing house "Naklada Ljevak d.o.o.", since 2008.
Many of them also have illustrations inside.
Themes are stories about teenage years, growing up, friendships, school days, falling in love, family relations and how kids function in society. There are also fairy tales, adventure books, fantasy novels, mystery novels and symbolic stories.
I get commissions from authors and editors, and then, after reading a novel, I throw myself into creating process, from sketches to final illustrations, in black and white and in color.
I combine manual drawing and illustrating in Photoshop. I also use Illustrator and I work with a tablet, Wacom Intuos.
Few months ago I started working seriously on creating entire books with image and text (making layouts in InDesign) and preparing them for print.
I also created few thousand illustrations for school readers, for various stories, poems, lectures and tasks. They range from small icons to big, elaborate illustrations on two-page spreads.
