British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s government won a vote of confidence on Monday evening in the British House of Commons after a five-hour debate, BIA Media reported.
Johnson, who has already formally resigned, is now expected to continue in office as interim prime minister for the next seven weeks until a new Conservative Party leader is chosen to succeed him.

MPs voted 349-238 to 111 in favour of a motion by the House of Commons to give the government confidence.
Johnson used his inaugural address to review what he saw as his greatest achievements in office, rejecting calls for him to resign immediately rather than wait until Sept. 5.
Johnson elaborated on Brexit, support for Ukraine and his handling of the Covid-19 pandemic amid outrage among the opposition.
