Zuzubak grass, which grows at the foot of the Mereto and Zoveser Mountains at an altitude of 3,000 meters in Sason district and is said to be good for many diseases, has become an important livelihood for the citizens living in mountain villages.
Zuzubak grass, which is consumed as a spice especially by the locals, finds a buyer for one kilogram of thousand liras this year due to its decrease in the region.
Fersende Bilir, one of the citizens who stated that Zuzbak grass is very medicinal, said, "It is known as Zuzubak in every language. It grows in high places, in stony areas. It doesn't grow everywhere. One kilo is about a thousand pounds. It is found in the highest mountains in Sason. It smells so good. When you join in the food, the smell of the food is beautiful. The upbringing is about a month. It's happening in a month. It is beaten with rock salt and crumbled and consumed as a spice in meals. It is a very medicinal plant."
