I'm a Professional Automation and Data Analytics Consultant for a nationwide Telecommunications provider where I'm responsible for transforming our approach to network operations from reactive to proactive and preventative. This requires taking operational expertise gained over 10 years of network troubleshooting and combining it with industry best practices (ITIL), business intelligence (MS PowerBI, Tableau), network monitoring (Zabbix, IBM Netcool), big data (oracle, SQL, Hadoop), and scripting (perl, python) to create a strategic system capable of automated outage detection, reporting, and proactive remediation. All of this harmonizes into workforce demand reduction, decreased MTTR and fault recurrence, and an improved customer experience. Over the past 2 years, I've led the automation strategy for our operations team, bringing our detection and reporting up to 90% via automation and more recently have developed a method of performing 20% of the departmental work (detection, reporting, and resolution) without any human interaction.
