" The Lingering", fiction. Architecture, I have come to realize, is less an art, a philosophy, a science, than it is an amalgam of all. The beauty or aesthetic of one, the conceptual quality of the other and the practicality of the third, each stands incomplete if standing on its own. Therefore to be an architect is to be no less than the embodiment of versatility. It is to have the inspiration of the artist, the ideals of the philosopher, and the logic of the scientific. No pleasure is greater for the architect than to bring to life a vision that only existed in the mind of the client, or to help create that vision there before making it real and sharing with the world. If in the process we seek to do no harm to the environment, or at least lessen our impact on it, and can inspire our fellow human
