A nationwide search was going for Vicky White (56) and Casey White (38), ending with authorities capturing them in southern Indiana.
Vicky White was a former correction officer who ran away with inmate Casey White. Both were captured after a car chase in Evansville. According to Sheriff Rick Singleton, the officials combed through hundreds of tips in the last 11 days after Vicky White aided Casey White in escaping from the prison. The pair initially escaped on April 29. Vicky White was supposed to take Casey White to the courthouse for a mental evaluation. Needless to say, the team never reached the courthouse. On investigating, it was revealed that they drove to a shopping centre's parking lot. They abandoned the patrol car and got in another vehicle that Vicky White had left there the previous night.
How did the investigation go?
Dave Wedding, the sheriff of southern Indiana's Vanderburgh County, confirmed that the escaped officer and inmate had been staying in Evansville since May 3.
Later Vicky White was spotted exiting a hotel with a wig on getting into a car with Casey White and drove away.
On Sunday night, the investigators were told about an abandoned 2006 Ford F-150 in a car wash in Evansville.
Pursuing the lead, Marshals travelled to Indiana.
This location was about 175 miles away from where the pair was last believed to be at.
