Principally, I draw cartoons. These might be best categorised as offbeat, dark or weird, and a look at my website will give a flavour (details on request). My influences include Tim Burton, MAD Magazine (especially Sergio Aragones) and such children's illustrators as Quentin Blake and Tony Ross. I also write and illustrate children's stories, and my style has been described as 'scratchy-cartoony': ink-pens and colour washes in the main, but I'll use any media to get the right results. I am known as something of a perfectionist, with an attention to detail. I believe in getting the work RIGHT: 'good enough' is not good enough! That said, I am a fast and enthusiastic artist with a highly adaptable style. My ability to emulate other cartoonists' styles has received praise. Overall, I am an individual artist with a penchant for the darker recesses of imagination and I'm seldom found without a pen. Drawing is my passion and I love to pass it on!
