I graduated from the University of Glasgow with a degree in English literature. Here I gained knowledge within critical and creative skills in independent writing and in analysing and arguing about literature and gained insights into how speaking and performing texts enhances literary study. I spent time examining the relationship between literary texts and their historical, cultural and political contexts (writing and ideology), and their formal features and techniques (writing and text). I studied novels, short stories, tales, poems, plays, essays and manifestos from the medieval period to present day. My written and verbal communication is excellent. I conduct myself in a professional manner making clear and concise points. In my previous role as a Medical Secretary my written skills were quickly utilised, and I was given the trust and responsibility to write letters and references on behalf of the Chief Executive of the organisation. This lead to me being given control of the Hospice social media to further communicate and interact with the Hospice’s public following and support by increasing their social following by over 95% percent within 24 hours.
