I provide a range of editing services and specialize in academic editing. My services include proofreading, light copy editing, heavy copy editing/line editing, and developmental editing. Previously I have worked as an editor for graduate students and faculty members across disciplines at numerous universities. I hold an M.A. in History from UCLA and have had my work published in peer-reviewed academic journals. I am familiar with Chicago Style, MLA Style, and APA Style, and can tailor my editing services to best fit your needs. Descriptions of services: Proofreading-- I review your work for misspellings, typos, and errors in subject-verb agreement, usage and formatting. Light copyediting-- All of the above, plus I check your manuscript for grammatical correctness, consistency and correctness of references and citation style, and perform basic fact-checking. Heavy copyediting-- All of the above, plus I provide suggestions for revisions, make changes to improve clarity, and change the passive voice to the active voice when necessary. Developmental editing-- I work with you to develop your paper or manuscript in terms of its larger concept and structure. This takes place early in the writing process, and includes discussions with me via Skype and/or e-mail. This also may includes providin a comprehensive critique of a manuscript.
