Abe Gold is a 15-year-old composer and pianist in New York City. Abe studied composition with Robinson McClellan. He currently studies classical piano with Joseph Ries in the Young Artist Program at the Kaufman Music Center, and jazz piano independently with Adam Birnbaum. Abe’s compositions have been performed in New York City at Rose Studio in Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, The Queens Museum, Roulette, Poisson Rouge, Vaudeville Park, the 2012 ASCAP Foundation Awards Ceremony at Jazz at Lincoln Center, and Columbia Secondary School as part of Make Music New York; as well as in the Five Seasons Chamber Music Festival in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and the Heartland Chamber Music Academy’s Stringendo Winter Concert, in Overland Park, Kansas. His music was also heard on Q2 Radio. Abe’s string quartet 4 NYC Things was described in NewMusicBox as “extremely inventive sonic depictions of life in New York City.”
