I am the clinical lead for innovation in the third largest healthcare organisation in Scotland, an employer of about 19,000 staff. I assess the utility of innovation products and ideas to help us transform healthcare delivery, and co-develop solutons to wicked challenges that contribute to sustainability issues.
I'm also a consultant health psychologist with particular expertise in chronic disease management. Over the past 20 years, I have delivered myriad presentations to a broad range of audiences, from trainees to qualified health professionals through to our executive team and board. I have also presented at the Houses of Parliament and Holyrood to inform national strategies on Types 1 and 2 diabetes.
As a senior member of staff, I routinely develop position papers for our organisation, develop strategy on innovation and oversee successful implementation. I also contribute to the development of policy and strategy in the wider organisation, and nationally.
I have extensive research expertise. I am a former Chied Scientist Office career research fellow, regularly review papers and proposals for scientific journals and funding bodies, and sit on an editorial board. I design evaluations for our trials of medical technology.
I have excellent writing skills, and a particular skill in presenting complex and complicated ideas and functions in coherent, accessible ways.
